what is can you see the human ?

To be an artist is an elusive thing, it seems.

When I was a tender teen, I always wanted to be an artist, but, conscious of my middling talent, I never felt like I could claim the title. So I called myself a "wannabe" artist to make it clear to myself and others that I was not a "real" artist.

Sometime in my late 20's, I started to gain confidence in my creative abilities, exploring photography, music, writing, film. I put myself out there, challenged myself, and learned immensely. And finally, I felt like I could call myself an artist.

Well in the past few years, we've seen the advent of many new digital tools for artists. And I've embraced them wholeheartedly. Entire mediums that were once the domain of the skilled and trained are now accessible to me. Who would say no to this?

But now, I'm told that I'm no artist. That the involvement of AI in my creative process makes me a "real" artist no more.

Well, I can't claim to be a great artist, but I'm sure that whatever made me an artist before AI came to be is still within me. And I'm thankful for AI, for allowing me to express myself in ways that were inaccessible to me before.

With can you see the human I explore ways that art can capture the human experience.

With every post, ask yourself, "Can I see the human?"
